The Elk Springs 4 is being converted from a directionally drilled production well to a produced water disposal well. The well was-drilled at a surface location 1,961 feet from south line and 2,150 feet from east line in the NWSE of Section 30, Township 5 North, Range 98 West, 6th P.M., Moffat County, Colorado. The approximate bottom-hole location is in the SESW of Section 30; 2,669 feet from the east line and 871 feet from the south line. BACKGROUND Class II injection wells are permitted and regulated in such a manner as to prevent the contamination of underground sources of drinking water and to ensure fluid emplacement and confinement within the permitted injection zones. EPA Class II disposal wells are permitted to inject waste generated by oil and gas exploration and production operations. Lyster Oil Company, Inc proposes to inject these fluids through perforations in a cased-hole completion in the Phosphoria Formation at depths between 6,174 and 6,204 ft.
