On March 29th and 30th of 2014, human remains were inadvertently discovered and partially removed from site 5MF7883, Moffat County, Colorado. On August 4, 2016, all remaining human remains were recovered from the site by officials of the BLM according to the request of consulting tribes to reunite all elements of the individual. 3. Officials of the BLM have determined that, pursuant to 43 CFR 10.2 (d)(1), the human remains described above represent the physical remains of one individual of Native American ancestry. The mine is operated by Twentymile Coal, LLC under the provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. In accordance with Rule 3.02.2(4), the Division has reviewed the adequacy of the reclamation bonding instruments and the adequacy of the reclamation cost estimate for the Foidel Creek Mine. The current bond held at the site is $10,056,089.00. With the approval of this SI-02, the Division proposes to increase the liability/required surety for the Foidel Creek Mine to $10,073,664.19. The affected area is located in Routt County, approximately 23 miles Southwest of Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
